exploration drawing | day 1-10 | some snippets and details of pages from my current sketchbook : exploring and analyzing mark making and looking at still life in watercolor, pencil, pigment, ink and collage
i am still here ... sketching, looking, dreaming, putting it to paper in ink, washes and pencil ... an atmosphere ... of a time past ...
and drawing... et le dessin... still a work in progress where I am finding structure, tone, line, texture, contour...
here is the first phase of a structure of strange inventive architecture and beauty...
and finding little bits of an industrial past that once was a bustling harbour...
as i was working on this project, surprising little elements showed up on the pages. There were many of them that i wanted to include but many of them i had to leave out. here a tiny little detail that made it on the page... [later more about this project]
enjoy the weekend and a happy, creative week everyone!
"All in the golden afternoon
Full leasurely we glide:
there are definitely times where i rather push [sometimes too often] an undesirable task to the back. i find nothing more draining than seeing the same u n f i n i s h e d task appear each morning, several times a day, each week...
- u n f i n i s h e d -
sometimes it takes a HOW to start.
i am trying this out for myself and perhaps you'll find use for it too. if you're curious, just click here
besides the temperatures that hovered well below the freezing point these past few weeks, i've kept myself quite occupied with some new projects and alternating this with indoor running, meditation and heat-producing yoga... wishing everyone a successful, dynamic and happy year of the dragon!
hello again! as the year set off with temperatures well below 0º C and layers of powdery snow, i am following the bear to the green forest [who's preparing for a good bear winter sleep ;)
after some time doing the fine precise architecture/animal drawings, it feels good to loosen up with these quick character wash studies. except for one little face that is peeping out from behind a shoulder. can you see her ?
sometimes menial tasks take over ... here's a page from one of my older sketchbooks. will be back with new work soon :)
